Job Role & Requirements-

Experience & Qualification

At least 3 years of experience in a Secretarial / Legal Assistant role to a Lawyer in a Contract Management environment

  • Understanding of corporate legal requirements including but not limited to the Information security, limitation of liability, compliance of IP, Data privacy, LD and indemnity clauses, benchmarking and similar; facilitate and conducts legal research, if needed
  • Good substantive understanding of the area of commercial contract law, i.e. key contract clauses/issues such as indemnification, limitation of liability, Liquidated Damages, Warranties, etc
  • Exposure / experience across Contract Management & Shared Services environments within IT services is preferred
  • Any graduate or post graduate degree, other than Law Degree
  • Paralegal Qualification is preferred

Job Description

This strategic, hands-on Contract Management role is responsible for driving a key transformational initiative in the Contract Management space for the Business Unit, including defining & running key aspects of the contract management function within the Unit, establishing an effective / regular governance cadence and collaborating with the BU counterparts to institutionalize and drive value from the Contract Management function within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Get a high-level understanding of the Deal and Services in scope of the Contract by interacting with the Sales team for the opportunity
  • Understand the key clauses in the Contract documents already marked up by the inhouse Legal team
  • Interact with the stakeholders and hold recurring calls with them to discuss their responses
  • Provide guidance and suggestions to help the teams arrive at a position
  • Consolidate the comments from multiple stakeholders
  • Keep track of the modifications suggested / comments collated etc to retrace any steps as required
  • Present the final positions to the Corporate Legal teams and get their sign off
  • The Candidate is NOT expected to independently advise on key legal terms to the management, but will only support and complement the Corporate Legal function, by being part of the Unit pre-sales function
