Safeguard Company’s interests by providing legal advisory services on legal issue, ensuring proper business/legal documents/agreements and providing support in Legal metrology compliances.
Business Responsibility Areas
Notices and Litigation
Represent the Company before various government and regulatory authorities regarding notices under legal metrology, resolution of issues and obtain necessary permissions / licenses
Evaluate legal options for resolving notices and avoiding litigations.
Liaise regularly with legal consultants for validating decisions on company legal issues and speedy movement of litigation cases
Settle reply to notices from Legal Metrology Inspectors, reply in appeal, plaints, replies, documents for cases
Attend tribunals, legal metrology offices, courts for response to notices and defend cases
Update the management of the developments related to litigations periodically
Draft transaction and contract related documents from a legal perspective and ensure that the associated risks for the Company are minimized
Participate in negotiation of key business contracts and provide inputs from a legal perspective
Validate documents and business deals for legal compliance
Evaluate and advise /provide executive note on legal due-diligence for property
Review agreements and advise as per recent changes in law relating to
Privacy Law, UPSI/NDA, Labor Code, etc.
Evaluate the impact of evolving legal and statutory regulations on the company/Industry
Advise internal stakeholders on statutory laws in case of any query
Assist in Compliance under Legal Metrology including new product launch
Assist in Audit of compliance of legal metrology at all the plants and major OPCs Intellectual Property Rights
Register, renew and follow up on IPR related issues both domestic and international
Keep updated on and share /circulate note/knowledge of latest laws Policy
Review the process at manufacturing line and OPC and advise on any improvement required/ if there is any deviation from standard guidelines/SOP regarding Labelling compliances etc.
Communicate the policies, strategies and target expectations to internal and external stakeholders
To facilitate in prompt filing of filing cases/issuing Notices for recovery/OD matters;
Evaluate and advise cost effective legal ways and means for effective recovery.
Design and deliver legal educational and training awareness program for all staff/new joinee across function
Keep reviewing with all stakeholders the process manual/MAT 18 and legal compliance manual.
Establish communication guidelines in line with Company policies . To collaborate and integrate inter function and help achieve common goals.
