Worley, are a worldwide team of consultants, engineers, construction workers and data scientists is looking to hire a Privacy Counsel for their Mumbai Office.
Act as a trusted member of Worley’s Data Protection Office team reporting directly into the Group Privacy Officer but with the responsibility to deliver or assist in the delivery of the following core Data Protection Office activities:
Inform and advise the group and employees of their obligations under GDPR and other applicable data protection legislation.
Assist in monitoring group companies’ compliance with the GDPR, other data protection legislation, and its data protection policies and procedures, including by conducting internal and supplier reviews, assigning monitoring responsibilities and reporting on outcomes of monitoring.
Lead/Participate in in awareness-raising activities and training of employees on their obligations under data protection legislation and the company’s data protection policies and standards.
Monitor the performance of and advise regarding data protection impact assessments.
Cooperate with and act as one of the points of contact for data protection regulators.
Assist in establishing data protection policies, procedures, and compliance and enforcement structures.
Act as one of the contact points for data protection queries from data subjects (customers, employees, clients).
Contribute to efforts to develop compliant approaches to obtaining, managing, and analysing data.
Participate as subject matter expert in the ongoing change programme relating to privacy.
Demonstrate ability to clearly and concisely communicate the privacy implications of technology and implementation.
Make actionable recommendations using knowledge of data protection law, statistics, business understanding and common sense.
Transferable skills and experience:
Data Protection Compliance: Extensive experience of data protection compliance frameworks, and of providing training on data protection compliance
Relationship Management: Experience of maintaining good relationships with internal stakeholders, regulators and clients.
Project Management: Experience of working on a number of data protection projects
Legal: Expertise in data protection law, in particular GDPR, and its practical application. Experience in providing practical training on data protection law. Legal qualification essential.
IT: Working knowledge of using software to handle data protection matters and experience in working with IT Security teams preferable
