  • Manage the daily practice of the General Counsel
  • Handle administrative details including managing external retainer arrangements, review and processing of legal invoices, expenses, manage client requests for review, etc.
  • Lead implementation of electronic filing, including corporate minute books, contracts and other legal instruments
  • Create, revise and compare legal documents, including complex contracts in a high-paced environment
  • Draft correspondence
  • Engage regularly with other members of the legal department and all other departments
  • Maintain corporate records
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime to meet project delivery requirements

Qualifications and/or Skill Required:

  • Minimum of five years’ legal assistant and/or law clerk experience (business and/or real estate law)
  • Successful completion of post-secondary program in a legal assistant or law clerk program (an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered)
  • Superior technical skills and aptitude (Superior knowledge of MS Office Word and Outlook; strong knowledge of PowerPoint; working knowledge of Excel)
  • Strong knowledge of legal procedures and practices
  • Superior proofreading skills; strong drafting skills
  • Organized and meticulous with follow-up and detail
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize and multitask
  • Flexible, team player that is client service oriented
  • Always maintain high level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Strong written and verbal communication
