Responsibilities Of The New Recruit
The new recruit will complement the activities of the members of the onshore team by:

  • assisting client service teams in the negotiation and agreement of engagement and other contracts
  • responding to miscellaneous engagement contract-related enquiries
  • responding to GDPR/Data Privacy related queries for both client engagement and supplier contract
  • providing advice on engagement contract and related matters
  • drafting and advising on contract terms
  • providing solutions to engagement contract-related problems
  • working on framework and master service agreements
  • providing support on confidentiality and other agreements
  • liaising with and supporting other technical departments
  • helping with the development of policies on engagement contracting risk
  • assisting other KPMG firms with engagement contract and related queries

Mandatory Skills

Job Requirements

  • Qualifications: LLB or LLM
  • Total Experience: The candidate must have minimum 4 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably with a Big 4 firm or expertise in technology agreements in a large MNC.
  • Skillset: Contract Specialist

Preferred Skills

  • experience handling legal or contracting queries (including GDPR/Data Privacy) and drafting or amending legal documents
  • Indian or UK qualified solicitor/lawyer with a minimum of 4 years of relevant post qualification experience
  • analytical abilities
  • ability to articulate points in writing and orally, clearly and succinctly
  • ability to persuade where necessary
  • negotiating abilities
  • capabilities in Outlook, Word and use of websites
  • willingness to acquire knowledge of OGC’s practices and processes
  • ability to be calm under pressure
  • ability to handle difficult or pressurized situations or people
  • commercial judgement and the ability to balance conflicting demands
  • initiative, self-confidence and authority
  • understanding of the risks faced by providers of professional services
  • awareness of cultural issues affecting regulated professional services firms

Preferred Specific Experience
The person appointed will have particular experience in the following areas:

  • contracts for complex business advisory projects, such as business transformations
  • contracts for services relating to IT systems integration, and large IT installations
  • software licensing agreements and contracts with software suppliers
  • experience of negotiating multi-jurisdictional master service agreements
  • experience of dealing with GDPR/Data Privacy related queries
