Cancellation and Refunds Policy

This Cancellation and Refunds Policy applies to all online courses and digital products offered by RostrumLegal, a brand of Rostrum Edtech Private Limited (“Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

We aim to deliver a seamless and high-quality learning experience. If you face any issue accessing or using your course, please contact us immediately at info@rostrumlegal.com so we can assist you.

Refund Eligibility

We offer refunds for all online courses within 7 days from the course start date, provided the learner has not completed the course or used restricted components during this period.

Refunds are not applicable in the following cases:

  1. If the registration was made using a scholarship code or discount code.

  2. For courses purchased as part of any package, combo, or bundled subscription.

  3. For any Test Prep Courses, including mock test series, judgment banks, and other exam-prep content.

  4. For any event registrations.

  5. If the learner completes the course within the 7-day refund window.

  6. If the learner has attended any live class or doubt-clearing session associated with the course.

  7. If the learner has accessed or downloaded restricted materials, attempted quizzes/mocks, or otherwise significantly consumed course resources.

Technical Issues

Refunds will not be granted for problems arising from the learner’s device limitations, internet connectivity, or any user-side technical constraints.
RostrumLegal will provide reasonable troubleshooting support but is not responsible for failures unrelated to our platform.

Duplicate Payment

In case of a duplicate payment, the refund will be issued after verification.
Processing timelines remain the same as detailed in the Refund Processing section.

Transfer or Replacement

  • Course transfers (switching to another course or batch) may be allowed only once and only before the course start date.

  • Transfer of course access to another learner is not permitted, unless expressly approved by the company.

  • Fees cannot be adjusted or shifted to future products without written approval.

Payment Gateway Charges

Where applicable, the refunded amount may exclude payment gateway or transaction charges, as per the policies of the payment provider.
Such charges are non-refundable and beyond the control of RostrumLegal.

Chargeback and Dispute

If a learner initiates a chargeback or payment dispute without first following our standard refund request procedure:

  • Course access may be suspended immediately.

  • Rostrum Edtech Private Limited reserves the right to contest the chargeback by providing access logs, timestamps, and delivery records.

  • Repeated or abusive disputes may lead to permanent account restrictions.

Exceptional Circumstances

Refunds may be considered in exceptional situations (such as documented medical emergencies) at the sole discretion of Rostrum Edtech Private Limited.
Supporting documents may be required.
Approval is not guaranteed.

Refund Request Process

To request a refund, the learner must email info@rostrumlegal.com with:

  • Registered name

  • Email/phone number

  • Course details

  • Reason for refund request

Refund requests submitted after 7 days from the course start date will not be accepted.

Refund Processing Timeline

  1. Acknowledgement (within 24 hours)
    You will receive a confirmation email acknowledging your refund request.

  2. Review and Verification (within 2 business days)
    Your request will be evaluated against our eligibility criteria.
    Additional information may be requested where required.

  3. Refund Approval and Initiation (within 1 business day after review)
    Once approved, the refund is initiated to your original payment method.

  4. Refund Completion (5–7 business days)
    Most refunds reflect within 5–7 business days.
    In rare cases, banks/payment providers may take up to 10 days.

We keep you informed at each step to ensure a smooth and transparent process.

Jurisdiction and Governing Law

All disputes, claims, or controversies arising out of this policy or the use of our services shall be governed by the laws of India, and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bangalore, Karnataka.
